Stem style water valves

I own a very old home that has stem style water valves in the basement that controls the water spigots outside. One has become so rounded off over the years that a pair of locking pliers won't turn it. It will open and close easy enough. Yes, they should be replaced. Looking for suggestions on a type of tool to grip onto the valve that will open and close it.
