Went to where my buddy found a couple broken pieces earlier this week, found this.

Location: California

I posted earlier this week about a few pieces that a friend of mine had found while he was out. I unexpectedly had today off, and stopped by near where he was. Any help identifying/aging this point?

Broken preform, or potential broken tool? Additional piece found near by.

Hello all,

A buddy of mine found a couple pieces of worked obsidian earlier this week. The larger of the two pieces is clearly worked on both sides, has a long edge over 3”, and where it broke it’s approximately 1/4” thick. Would this likely have been a broken preform, or a tool broken during use? Tip is rather blunted.

The other piece was found nearby and looks to be worked along one side. The other side is smooth. I am leaning towards debitage?
