Questions about CLAC?
Hey, a company I work for recently became a CLAC represented company. I personally and a few others never signed membership cards but the vote went through and the company then signed a collective agreement. I am still no longer a member, but I do pay dues. I am now being asked to sign on as a member to receive certain benefits. What are the problems with becoming a member after your company has switched? Would it affect future employment with other unions? All the information I can find is very vague and unhelpful.
If anyone has an experience with a similar situation I would appreciate your perspective. I am working in Canada for reference.
Thanks in advance.
