Best budget tools for SRAM Apex Drivetrain repairs

I picked up a new style Grizl CF6 in November with the SRAM Apex 12 speed drivetrain. I’ve probably done about 1,000km a months since then, so not unsurprisingly I’ve killed the drivetrain. I know it was stupid not to keep the chain refreshed, but from what I’ve read even doing one or two chain swaps would probably still lead to a pretty worn cassette after over 6,000 km.

So I’ve bought a flat-top chain, but I’m sure I should be swapping everything, so a new PG-1231 cassette for the back and a new 40T chainring at front. I’ll try and keep on top of chain replacement in the future, but still I think I’ll be needing a new cassette every 6-8 months. So can someone recommend what tools I’ll need, and what are good budget options. I guess I need a chain whip, a wrench and socket of some kind for the cassette, and do I need to remove the right crank arm in order to replace the chainring ? What tool would that be ? Thanks for any advice…
