QuakeCon with my three kids. Thanks ASUS/ROG
New to reddit, I have lurked in the past. Making this post to support ASUS / ROG. So, I personally use a REDRAGON K580RGB as my everyday gaming keyboard, so that was my point of comparison for the ROG Falchion Ace 75 HE at QuakeCon.
The K580RGB has served me well. I like the full-size layout, it's been reliable, and honestly it's been a great keyboard for the money.
After spending the weekend with the Falchion Ace 75 HE, though, I'm making the switch.
The 75% layout gives me a lot more room for my mouse, and the Hall Effect switches and adjustable actuation make the Falchion feel noticeably more responsive. The overall build and key feel are also a substantial step up from my K580RGB.
The pictures are actually my three kids gaming alongside me in the ASUS Fan Row on their own rigs. They were using REDRAGON K630s and had an absolute blast throughout QuakeCon.
The ASUS team was incredibly kind to them. They provided all three of my kids with new keyboards, along with other gamers in the Fan Row, and kept everyone fueled with snacks and drinks throughout the event.
That meant a lot to them.
I've been coming to LANs for years, and getting to share that experience with my kids and seeing how excited they were to be part of it was probably my favorite part of QuakeCon.
So ASUS managed to win over two generations of gamers in our family and convinced Dad to change keyboards in the process.
Thank you ASUS/ROG for the generosity, the fantastic Fan Row, and a QuakeCon our family will remember.
