I have been playing for several years, and I have even restarted after finding all of the fossils, fish and bugs, but then I get bored. I do not have a creative bone in my body to even know how to start decorating my island.

My question is how do you all do it? Do you start in 1 section and then build from there? Do you have the entire layout planned first and then decide which items you need in order to execute it? I don't want to keep giving up, but I don't even have a sold layout for my villagers houses in a neighborhood, they are just sporadically throughout my island at this point.
