How to verify if a green space on council estate land is officially designated as a children's play area?
Around the corner from my flat is a green area in front of a council estate that I often take my dog to. There's a sign there with official council insignia that specifically states "dogs must be on lead" and "dog fouling prohibited". I always have my dog on lead and always pick up after her, so all good there.
Yesterday, though, a man came out of the building and started yelling at me saying my dog isn't allowed to use the area as it's a children's play area. There is no signs in the area marking it as that, nor is there any play equipment (or any children playing there that I've ever seen). The man was quite aggressive and belligerent and didn't seem to have any position of authority, so I'm guessing he's just a Karen type, but just to be safe I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can actually verify whether the area is in fact a designated children's play area or not. I'm happy to go elsewhere with my dog if needed, but if it's not required and I'm within the regulations then I'm equally happy to ignore the guy and keep doing what I'm doing.
This is in Camden council, and any searching I've done hasn't been clear on it one way or another.
