We started a few days ago posting around on reddit, getting a good traction and early signups of people trying the product. We were responsive to all the feedback and issues, which made some users talk about us on their own.

We’ve also decided to open source Kanwas, which enabled us to post on Hacker News and other communities which got us over 300+ stars on GH.

Another important step was to warm up our network.

In the 10 years of building products we’ve got quite a lot of builder friends and reached out to them upfront to get early traction. And today, it’s 4 of us pinging all our friends to come support us.

Investing time to create a nice video is really valuable, and it definitely adds on and distinguish you from other launches where just a screen recording is used.

Being part of the slack and discord communities, where other makers share their launches is also nice place to find support.

So it’s a mix of grind and trying to be more personal than others. Hope this can help others with preparing for the product hunt launch!

So it’s a mix of grind and trying to be a bit different than others. Hope this can help others reach #1 spot too!

As many people here I also struggle with losing the valuable research and insights within the endless chats, so here is one interesting solution. Can hold all different types of data, and keep the research and knowledge living. You can drop your thoughts, bring interesting blogs, videos, keep the sticky notes of important signals and facts, and use the agent to work on top of it.

Above is my board from today. I have a prompt that I use every time I need ai to help me think though some topic, I type my raw notes, bring few inspirations, and do multiple iterations. What is nice is that canvas interface gives me control above the data I use, and I can do a lot of cross referencing and iterations, try and play with different angles, which at the end makes me trust the output more.

The tool is Kanwas ai, it is open sourced, not sure if I can share a link.

I mostly check it for inspiration and to see what new is being built. Though lately there is a lot noise and random apps. But for example I discovered little bird through product hunt, and gave it a try. Curious how it works for others
