ORIF ankle surgery
I am 11 weeks out from ORIF ankle surgery and 13 weeks out from the injury. I had a trimalleolar fracture all which were comminuted fractures. I have 3 plates and 15 screws. I have been able to FWB since 6 weeks after surgery wearing a boot and transitioning to a shoe. I have been doing physical therapy since before I could weight bear. I still use my knee scooter and even my wheelchair at times. I have read many posts and understand that this is a slow injury to heal. I'm so frustrated! My pain is still so unbearable! I have returned to my job and I can sit and stand as needed. By time I get home, I'm usually spending the evening crying because of the pain. My surgeon won't listen or give me any info. My family practice doctor is starting to assume I'm drug seeking and now has suggested medical marijuana which I don't think I'm okay with. I don't want drugs, I want to be pain free. I ice and elevate above heart level all the time except when I'm at work. I just want my life back! Please, please help me. I'm desperate!
