New to photobooth business using Snappic, Canon R100, preview screen too dark
I’m setting up a photo booth using an iPad running Snappic with a Canon EOS R100 connected by USB, and an Echelon RX flash.
The final captured photos look good, but the live preview on the iPad before the photo is taken is very dark. The iPad screen brightness is already set to maximum.
Things I already tried:
Snappic camera settings:
ISO 400, 800, and 1600
Aperture f/5.6
Shutter 1/125 for photos
Shutter 1/60 for video/live preview
White balance AWB
Auto Focus During Countdown ON
Auto Focus During Capture ON
Use Capture Settings For Live Preview set to both Photo and Video
Canon EOS R100 settings:
Camera is in Manual mode
Tried changing exposure simulation settings
AWB selected
Lens is set to autofocus
Final photo exposure is fine
Lighting:
Using an Echelon RX flash
Final photo exposure is fine with flash
The problem is only the live preview before capture
Has anyone seen this with Canon EOS R100 + Snappic + Echelon RX flash? Is there a specific Canon setting, Snappic setting, live view setting, flash/modeling light setting, or USB/live preview limitation that causes the preview to stay dark even when the final photo is properly exposed?
