I'm in the market for a new laptop, since the ASUS Zenbook I've been using since 2019 is dying on me.

After looking at different options, I've decided that the Zephyrus G14 is the one. I need it for my upcoming studies (Applied Physics, using programs like SolidWorks and for modeling/rendering work), as well as for daily tasks like browsing, some programming, a little bit of AI, and Adobe software like Photoshop and Lightroom.

Now, I'm having trouble deciding which model to pick. The 2026 models are too expensive, so I'm looking at the 2025 models. I live in the Netherlands and there are basically three options available:

  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403UM: Ryzen 9 270, RTX 5060, 16GB RAM (second-hand) – €1700
  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403UP: Ryzen 9 270, RTX 5070, 32GB RAM – €2350
  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403WR: Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM – €2750

Since I'm concerned about whether 16GB of RAM will be enough, I'm mostly looking at the middle model (I find the GA403WR a bit too expensive and definitely overkill). The only thing holding me back is the Ryzen 9 270. Is this still good enough in 2026? If so, I'm sold and that will be my definitive choice.
