McKinsey response time after Round 1 interview?
Hi everyone,
I had my McKinsey Round 1 interview yesterday for an experienced hire role in Europe and I’m honestly a bit confused about the timeline.
The interview itself felt overall decent:
- PEI went fairly well
- structuring was okay/good
- math was strong
- chart analysis was probably my weakest part, but not a complete disaster either
At the end, the interviewer explicitly told me that I would hear back later that same day regardless of the outcome. However, I still haven’t received any feedback or update.
Up until now, communication throughout the process had been extremely fast and reliable, which is why the silence is making me nervous.
I know nobody here can know the actual outcome, but from your experience:
- is a delayed response usually a bad sign at McKinsey?
- or have people also received positive feedback/offers after a longer delay?
Would really appreciate honest experiences.
