I used to think hiking was just “walking but harder” until I actually tried it
No one warned me that hiking is basically, like paying money, to carry a heavy bag, while suffering voluntarily, with little sleep and questioning every life decision halfway up a mountain
The worst part is when experienced hikers say things like:
“we’re almost there bro”
and it turns out the destination is still 2 hours away 💀
But honestly… the weird thing is that I kinda get the hype now.
Watching the sunrise above the clouds after climbing for hours genuinely feels unreal.
And for once, my brain stopped thinking about notifications, deadlines, and random stress.
It’s like the mountain forces you to be fully present because your only goal is literally:
survive the climb 😭
Still not sure if hiking is peaceful therapy or just advanced suffering with good scenery.
Anyone else feel this way after their first real hike?
