WGU BSN -> CRNA Acceptance Experience?
Has anyone here actually completed a BSN through Western Governors University (WGU) and successfully gotten accepted into a CRNA program?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people accepted into programs in Dallas-Fort Worth or elsewhere in Texas, but honestly any accredited CRNA program is helpful.
I know there are strong opinions about pass/fail programs, but I’m not looking for general warnings or “stay away from WGU” comments. I already understand I may need to put in extra work to be competitive e.g. retake science classes (letter grade).
I’ve already spent a lot of time searching online, in this subreddit/group, and across forums trying to find actual examples of people who went from WGU to CRNA school or similar. I keep finding opinions, but not many firsthand success stories or details about what made applicants competitive.
What I really want to know is:
- Did you personally get accepted after WGU?
- What did you do to strengthen your application?
- Did you take extra science courses for a GPA?
- What was your ICU experience like?
- CCRN?
- Shadowing?
- Leadership/research?
- Did schools question the pass/fail format?
- Which schools accepted you?
I’d appreciate hearing from people with actual experience going through the process rather than assumptions. Thanks!
