Some questions about separation, these are genuine ones, and please give me good response to convince me
Asalamualiakum. this is kind of my first time on this sub. my family is from Awdal and basically everyone I know is against separation from Somalia.
I have some questions as someone who is connected to her land but lives outside of it
- why claim that the Isaac’s were genocided while getting recognized by a genocidal regime, doesn’t it defeat the purpose?
- the Issac’s weren’t the only ones targeted but many Somalis who went against Siad Barre include my qabil and even people from the south, why make it only one side and seriously not include the other.? (keep in mind I am learning and did not grew up in Somalia but rather Yemen, Indonesia and now Canada)
- how is Somaliland functioning when there are Isse people coming rn from jibouti and Ethiopia and killing my people and taking land? they want to expand their territory and claim it to join jibouti in case Somali land gets recognized. they have a whole thing the are submitting to UNESCO even
- the Somaliland military does nothing except come between the two groups, shoot up a couple rounds and take the weapons to even resell it back to the two clans at the highest bidder, this is actually happening on the ground and my family is being affected
- then there is the political aspect of other groups not getting represented much.
- the bombing of las cannood that I saw from online which was almost unimaginable, since that is what you wanted from Barre and that happened to you too, this was almost concerning not that I have connections with family there but the brutality towards people who don’t want to be a part of the separation
