Santa clause and shirk

The idea of Santa clause is absolutely ridiculous, sure Christmas has become a secular holiday but for the Christians who still give it religous importance it’s absurd that they teach there kids about Santa clause.
The concept that they tell there kids is that there’s a being that is all seeing and can pass judgment on actions (naughty or nice) then reward or punish them is ridiculous. This is textbook shirk, I’m aware that Santa started as a marketing gimmick but why not just tell kids that god put gifts under the tree. Why create a new being that has god like abilities. I wonder what the long term effects are on how they view god if there parents had just taught them tawheed instead of some nonsense.
