I want to preface about my situation and hope to get some insights from redditors who could give solicited advice or is similarly in the same situation as me.
Currently I’m in National Service while concurrently taking up a part time diploma. I’m expected to end in September 2027 but here is the issue.
During my application this year via DAE, I was accepted to a full time programme in a polytechnic and is expected to matriculate next year. Here is the issue, back then, I didn’t really get the student life that I yearned for due to extenuating circumstances that I don’t wish to disclose, but one has to be realistic about the current market as well and I’m not sure which one I should outweigh more.
I was thinking if whether after my completion with my part time diploma, I would be able to pursue a part time degree in SUSS to reduce my education path while being in a full time diploma programme concurrently. But also at the same time, the current market forgives no one but the top 10% of the very elites that employers favour in terms of both technical problem solvers and scholars, and I’m unsure if the student life I always yearned for is any worth it since I would have completed my part time diploma by then.
Tldr: should I should just work and do a part time degree after my NS and my part time diploma programme, or should I study both a full time diploma and a part time degree at the same time to enjoy student life in poly and juggle uni at the same time.
