Are there babies who just don’t adjust to daycare?
I’m asking this because I’m feeling this about my daughter. She goes part time (2x a week) and this is on purpose. I set my schedule up this way so I can spend 3 days a week with her. She will be going full time pretty soon. She’s been going part time from 12 weeks and she’s now 7 months. It’s a small home daycare. Same 3 teachers etc. only her and another baby in the infant room. Some days it’s only her.
Anyways, she cries at every single drop off. I think she cries most of the morning too. They always tell me after her noon nap she’s much more content. There are days where she’s unconsolable. She even started to refuse her bottle and now I drive to nurse her. She’s back to taking 1-2 bottles a day after about a month of refusing her bottles. Im down to driving 1-2 times to nurse her.
I’ve been working with her teachers to understand her cues to help with her crying. I do think it’s helping.
My daughter cries and refuses bottles when my aunt watches her too. She’s really just isn’t into anyone else but me. She’s finally reaching for my mom and enjoying spending time with her. We live with my mom btw. She still isn’t going to let my mom hold her or watch her longer than 30-45 minutes.
I’m scared to go to work full time. I worry about her. Have yall experienced babies who just truly never adjust to daycare?
