Idle thoughts on potential listing
Bear with me please-
I’ve had idle thoughts of renting out our spare room during ‘peak’ vacation season in my area (Upstate/rural NY)…..BUT-
Now there is the potential for the following - all this is hypothetical right now, but a thought for bringing in some $$ for an older parent-
Would this appeal to you at all….and there are options…..
100+ year old well-maintained farmhouse on dead-end road.
Both options are for the same Home, just different configurations.
Option 1- 1 bed, 2 bath (showers, no tub), full kitchen/dining and living room including laundry facilities. All on one floor with 2 steps to get into house. Kitchen wing is less than 30 years old but fits with farmhouse feel.
Located about 1 hour from major flat horse track, harness track and casino, 1 hour from airport, city ( not NYC). Prime starting point for fall leaf-peeping, thousands of acres of state-owned land right in the back yard.
Option 2 is 2-3 bedrooms, and 3 baths- bedrooms 2-3 and full bath on 2nd floor.
Mainly would cater to the summer track and leaf-peepers……not families with children.
A little more about the property- there are ponds, not sure that swimming would be allowed (insurance??), including a small ornamental one in the front yard. Owner would maintain access to the ‘old’ section of the house including garage and basement access which would be closed off from the rented part by a doorway (already there). Upstairs could be closed off also with pre-existing barrier.
