New England Mech Con 2026: BattleTech on a Battleship (Sept 18-20, Fall River, MA)

On September 18th through the 20th, 2026, New England Mech Con returns to the USS Massachusetts (BB-59), a decommissioned WWII battleship moored at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA. This is not a hotel ballroom convention. This is a South Dakota-class warship with steel decks, narrow corridors, and 16-inch guns overhead. You will play BattleTech where real sailors fought real wars.
What is this?
New England Mech Con is a community-run BattleTech convention built around the idea that the venue should matter. The USS Massachusetts is a floating museum with strict preservation rules, limited power, and tight spaces. Every event location was chosen to fit the ship's structure, not the other way around. We have successfully run events on this ship before, and we are scaling up for 2026.

The USS Massachusetts is a historic museum ship. That means narrow corridors, steep ladders, low ceilings in some areas, and no permanent modifications. Some spaces get warm. Dress in layers. Respect the artifacts. This ship survived WWII; help us make sure it survives us too.
