Technologists in South Carolina what’s your day to day workload like?
I’m currently a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in NYC with 10+ years of experience. My wife and I have a dream of eventually moving. With South Carolina being high on our list.
I’d love to hear from any Nuclear Medicine Technologists currently working in South Carolina about what your day-to-day job looks like.
Some things I’m curious about:
Typical patient volume?
Are PET/CT scans, general Nuc. Med. scanning, therapeutic administrations, cardiac stress scans all done under the same position?
On call requirements?
My current position is primarily preforming therapeutic administrations (Lu-177, I-131, Y-90, & Ac-225) along with other non-imaging procedures. Managing Radiopharmaceutical orders for general Nuc. Med. Procedures & Therapy doses. Handling radioactive waste disposal, and departmental supplies inventory.
Would really appreciate any insight, advice, or even recommendations on good hospital systems or areas to look into.
Thanks in advance!
