I have Hashimoto’s and I’m currently in my third month of taking levothyroxine 50 mcg.
I’ve been in a long-distance relationship for a long time, and I’ve always missed my boyfriend, but over the past few weeks I’ve noticed that I feel so much more in need of seeing him and being physically close to him.
I don’t necessarily mean it in a sexual way. I just really crave intimacy; touching him, cuddling, being held, sleeping next to him, just having him physically there. It feels much stronger than usual, to the point where I have trouble sleeping because I miss him so much.
Has anyone else noticed increased emotional/physical affection or a stronger need for intimacy after starting levothyroxine? Gosh, it’s torturing me!

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand my thyroid results and would appreciate experiences.
Recent labs:
• TSH: 7 → 14 in one week
• FT4: 11.3 (normal)
• FT3: 3.72 (normal)
• Anti-TPO: 761.63 (high)
• Anti-thyroglobulin: 7.49
Ultrasound:
• Normal thyroid size
• Homogeneous structure
• No nodules
• No signs of thyroiditis
• No structural abnormalities
• Only mild asymmetry (not considered concerning)
My endocrinologist suggested starting levothyroxine, and I’ll discuss everything with her tomorrow after she reviews all results.
I also wanted to ask: from your experience, do people usually feel better after starting levothyroxine? I do have several common hypothyroid symptoms and I’m wondering how long it typically takes to notice improvement.
