How do I get a job as a graduate? UK
I graduated with a 2:1 back in 2023 and while I was studying I worked voluntarily at an accounting firm to get experience, after graduating I managed to get a full time job as a trainee tax associate which totalled around 4 years of experience.
I had to leave the role of trainee tax associate due to personal reasons but have been searching for a job since 2024. My question is how am I supposed to get a job as an accountant when no one is willing to give me a chance?
I’ve applied, been ghosted, rejected and called in to apply and no one wants to take me on. I’m struggling, I’ve even applied to McDonalds and etc. to get some cash flow coming in but I’ve either been ghosted or been waiting for an interview slot to come through.
Even for junior or trainee positions that are being advertised by these accounting firms ask for more than 4 years of experience.
What do I do?
