Any advice on how I can fix or cover up this large tattoo on my thigh?

It’s such a big piece I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to without some laser sessions first but also I’m on minimum wage so if anyone has any ideas or can recommend artists based in the UK (live in north east but willing to travel) I will appreciate it so much.

This was my first tattoo, it is a memorial tattoo for my childhood dog. I don’t think the majority of it is awful, but that sky, hideous, I had wanted stars in it and he decided to try a technique that was new to him and yeah. If I could go back in time I’d have looked around more for a an artist with a different style and gotten a smaller piece, but here we are. Help?
