Hey friends! I'm starting my denture journey at only 40 years old, as half my teeth have been extracted over the years, and the remaining ones are in awful shape. Did a consultation with the dentist, and he said I do have the option to do partials on top since my canines are decent (but still need fillings). Considering the rate of decay I've had with my other teeth, a partial might only last a few years.
I'm torn on whether I should choose partial or jump in and do full upper denture.
Partial pros: keeping those 2 teeth as long as possible/bone support, I hear they're less bulky?, will it feel more natural?
Denture pros: I like the idea of a uniform smile, getting it all finished and be done with it. I'm unsure what my insurance position will be after next year...
Can anyone give any insight or experience on this situation? I realize cases vary, but any info is helpful, as I have no idea what to expect.
I can't afford the implants for snap in bottoms, but I can afford bone graphs same day as extractions, so we're gonna do that in case I want to get implant supported dentures in the future. (I'm assuming they're cheaper than traditional all x4 implants, but still very inexpensive)
Anyways, I hope you're all doing well!
