to keep it short I moved here not long ago and I actually bike commute to work/around. Curious on others experiences on the the river green way or lick run green way mainly just after hours not as worried during the day but after its closed and even just right at dark is it safer or should I just stick to riding roads home at 1-2am

moving to roanoke soon and I’m just anxious about bike commuting daily, I will be living in SE Roanoke and I do see that people see that’s one of the worst of the areas. just wondering anyone else’s opinion or experiences is the area really that bad? I live currently in a pretty safe city and use the same sidewalks everyday.
