Seedance 2.5 draft mode is a game changer — video trial and error at 1/5 the cost

AI video gets expensive fast when you keep generating clips that aren’t quite right. The motion looks off, the camera misses the idea, or the result just doesn’t match what you imagined. Even with SJolt’s low pricing, those failed attempts add up.

Seedance 2.5’s draft mode makes that process much cheaper: generate a 480p draft at roughly 1/5 the usual generation cost, iterate until you get a clip you’re happy with, then upscale that version to 1080p.

That’s the game changer for me: being able to explore more ideas without every failed attempt feeling expensive. Spend less finding the right video, then pay for the resolution once you’ve found it.

seedance2.5 1080p released, priced about 2.5 times that of 720P, but prices on various API platforms still vary greatly

Today I saw that seedance2.5 has been released, so I'm preparing to integrate it into my workflow. Since I was using SJolt for 720P before, but after seeing the price for 1080P, I decided to look at other platforms to see if there was something cheaper. In the end, I went back to SJolt. Below are the prices I found on other platforms.

Fal: $1.18/s (This price shocked me too much)

wavespeed: $ 0.9/s

kie: $0.56/s

SJolt: $0.5/s

The cancellation of artlist's Unlimited generation feature brought me back to sjolt.

After comparing the fal wavespeed kie sjolt seedance2.5 API prices, I started using sjolt to generate videos because their price was the cheapest. But after hearing about artlist's unlimited generation event, I was tempted, so I started using artlist. The generation speed was quite good, but less than a day into using it, they announced the cancellation of the unlimited generation. I was very angry, but I also understood that unlimited generation is all lies, so I continued to use SJolt, generating with the cheapest price and no longer pursuing unlimited generation.

wavespeed
720P $0.36/s

KIE

seedance2 depth-video to video

After extracting the depth video, the effect obtained by video referencing is very good.

  1. Prepare the reference video
  2. Extract the depth video
  3. Prepare the character reference images
  4. Input the extracted depth video and character reference images into seedance2, and you will get perfect results

Complete workflow is below:

Someone open-sourced a visual workflow for 3D blocking, image generation, and AI video

I came across this repo while looking for a less chaotic way to manage multi-step AI image and video experiments.

The interesting part isn't just that it supports multiple models. It's the workflow:

- Block a shot with a built-in 3D Director, including characters, poses, camera angles, and simple geometry

- Feed that composition into an image generation node

- Reuse the result as a reference, first frame, or last frame for video generation

- Keep every intermediate result connected on the same infinite canvas

- Save the graph in the browser or export it as JSON

It currently supports image models such as GPT Image, Nano Banana, and Seedream, plus video models including Kling, Seedance, and Veo.

Important caveat: the application itself is MIT-licensed and self-hostable, but the models do not run locally. Generation and media delivery use the paid SJolt API. The API key and project graph are stored in the browser.

Live demo:

For people doing image-to-video work: would the built-in 3D blocking replace part of your Blender/ComfyUI workflow, or is the cloud API dependency a deal-breaker?

Not affiliated with the project — just thought the workflow was interesting.
