has anyone regretted trying to save money on a home project?

i am dealing with this right now on a couple of things around the house. every time I start looking into a project, there is always a cheaper option that seems "good enough" and a more expensive option that people swear is worth it.

in the past, i've gone with the cheaper route a few times and sometimes it worked out fine, but other times i ended up spending more later because i had to redo it.

curious what other people's experiences have been. was there a project where you wish you'd spent a little more from the start, or one where the budget option ended up being the right call?

What's the most worthwhile home upgrade you've made that didn't cost a fortune?

i've been thinking about tackling a small project around the house, but i'm not sure where to start. i'm not looking for a major renovation, just something relatively affordable that made a noticeable difference in your day to day life.

could be better lighting, storage, paint, fixtures, organization, or anything else.

what upgrade ended up being more worth it than you expected?

Looking for a book that completely pulled you into its world

i have been trying to find a book lately that is really immersive and easy to get lost in for a few hours at a time. doesn’t really matter what genre it is, just something with a world/atmosphere that made you not want to stop reading once you got into it.

thanks for any recommendations.

Any book recommendations that got you out of a reading slump?

I haven’t been reading as much lately and I’m trying to get back into it again. Open to pretty much any genre, just looking for something really engaging that’s hard to put down once you start.
