Geotextile or not to Geotextile?
Hi everyone, Im a fairly confident gardener and I use a lot of raised beds (terrible soil and unpredictable weather), but ive never used gravel and need some tips please? Ive described my thoughts to Gemini and she has given me an image to help visualise. Im redesigning my garden and to add a bit of interest, I thought what about a raised round planter, filled with lava stone, with outdoor pots on top. I have no idea how to go about this, can I just plop the stones into the ring? Will they sink? Will it fill with mud? Will I have constant weeds? Should I use geotextile, or some other barrier? Ive heard nightmares about landscaping fabric. Ive never used it. Im not really interested in trying it, but maybe for this use case I should? Has anyone done this little experiment, has it worked, should I avoid at all costs? Any thoughts, tips and vibes welcome. Thanks so.much everyone!
