I know the most cost-effective way to clean your mask and tubing is by using antibacterial soap & water in the sink. Unfortunately, I can never get it all the way clean. My mask smells like morning breath and the hose is never dry by bedtime. Is there a better solution?
I just started using the F30i AirTouch mask and I like it much better than the AirFit. It solves the sweaty face problem! Unfortunately, the diffuser falls out in the middle of the night. How do I get it to stay?
I use a full face mask. Since I’ve been getting better sleep, I’ve noticed that I drool a lot. My mask feels gross when I wake up and I’m starting to have issues with the skin on my face. What can I do about this?

I’m a side sleeper. I just had my pressure raised. I had a great mask fit on the lower pressure, but I needed more pressure to reduce my events, which average about 5.7/hr. My doctor also extended the ramp time to 45 min. I was able to fall asleep just fine, but I woke up with the full pressure lifting the cushion off my face. I could hold it on with my hands, but that’s not sustainable. I tried wiggling it around, but I finally got so frustrated that I gave up & took the mask off. Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
I’m a social worker. I graduated with my MSW in 2004. Since then, I have been working towards my license. After 22 years, I finally have everything I need to get licensed. I just need to pass an exam.
The exam takes 4 hours. 2 hours, break, 2 more hours. In a silent room. No food or drinks allowed.
If I’m honest, the entire reason why I tried to get treatment for apnea again was so I could stay awake to pass this exam. I’ve figured out the machine, the mask, and how to keep the mask sealed to my face. I get 4-6 hours a night with the machine before I wake up and have to take the mask off to go back to sleep. Occasionally I get a full 8. I’m still having 12.5 apneas per hour (which is better, I think) and am unable to sit for much more than an hour without falling asleep unless I’m in conversation or something like that.
I need to take the exam by 8/3 or else it completely changes and I have to start studying all over again. I know that’s not the end of the world. I also know that I want my GD license already!
Is there anything I can do to make myself stay awake for the exam? I’ve tried Nuvigil and it keeps me physically awake, but I’m still exhausted mentally and overcome with brain fog.
I have a call out to my sleep doc. I’ve noticed that people with lived experience have different options than the doctors think of, so I’m asking you for your wisdom. Thanks in advance.
Hi. I just started with my BiPAP. I’m super awake and have a lot of energy, but I find myself wanting to nap anyway. If I laid down, I wouldn’t sleep.
I think it might be a behavioral thing. I’m just so used to wanting to take a nap that I still do even if I don’t need one. Does anybody else have this issue?
I know that I’m incredibly lucky to have found a machine and mask that works for me after trying and giving up several times. I’m just curious. Thanks!
