"to quit" in polish: difference between przestawać and rezygnować?

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone could shed some light onto what the difference between these verbs are, because they seem to both mean "quit" but I wonder if they imply different nuances. (side note: I know that they both have perfective forms too (przestać and zrezygnować) but didn't want to have an overly lengthy title haha.)

Edit: thank you so much everyone, I think I get it now! :)

Difference betwee ponad and nad

Hello everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble trying to understand the difference between these two terms... My understanding is that they both seem to mean "above"? If anyone could help, that would be lovely! Thank you in advance. 😄

Edit: Wow, thank you for your responses everyone, I feel like I understand it now! So from what i've read from your replies, it sounds like ponad is for specifically quantities while nad is for spacial positioning... And while it may (in the technical sense) be possible to see ponad be used for spacial positioning, this is usually only seen in the context of literature to add a poetic feel of "grandeur"--thereby making this particular usage of ponad sound unnatural in everyday life... Very interesting! Once again, thanks everyone! 👍
