Do I assume correctly that Alxaal is simply a stand-in for the Final Fantasy 11 player character? They were really cagey in the dialogue about his identity, but I suspect it was to avoid scenarios in which someone playing FF14 had also played FF11 and thus had their own adventurer in mind for all the feats that he supposedly accomplished. E.g. Npcs saying “I remember someone like you” or “I remember someone did something like that”.

I had already suspected this was Alxaal’s identity, but there was a comment he made about seeing an alternate reality form of Promathia which I assume is a reference to what the player character goes through in the Abyssea storyline in FF11.
