Career Path From P&C Licensing -> Independent Agency Ownership

Alright because everyone’s going to ask about experience ill start there, I’ve been in sales for going on 14 years I spent 7 of these years 1099 or running my own small business. I did do a very short stretch at a State Farm office (it was like 30 days) I enjoyed it but my side hustle took off. I’ve been thinking about what my long term career looks like. Business ownership has always been in the plans. If you own a P&C independent Agency with employees, what would you recommend as the career path?

I’ve talked to people who would recommend going back to State Farm to get trained for a year or two, I also have seen opportunities to become a producer at an independent agency. I definitely need to get a lay of the land before just jumping into having a brokerage. I will take any and all advice you’re willing to give.
