Union had hotdog and MLA roast in Kinsmen Park
SEIU-West (mostly HCW's like CCA's, support workers..) had a hotdog handout in Kinsmen tonight. Bunch of MLA's showed. NDP had Jorgensen, Mowat, and Ritchie. The SkP had Weger and Cheveldayoff. Seemed pretty bland until the microphone got passed around. No wonder everyone is leaving HC.
Cheveldayoff got told by nearly everyone there they couldn't afford to keep their job anymore. He responded by saying he talked to the bargaining committee once a month (1/mo! WTF??) and that the economy just keeps on getting better!! (JFC so are they trading potash and canola for homeless people!?). He was out to lunch if he thought anyone believed any of his bullshit and political dblspeak ("I'm working very hard with the bargaining committee to get a deal!"). They are YOUR BARGAINING COMMITTEE. They do WHAT YOU TELL THEM TO DO!
At least he didn't act like a sniveling punk like Cockrill. Still, not impressed. This gov is gonna smash healthcare and all these people are gonna bounce, quit, or strike
