This Tennis API Provides Advanced Match Stats and Analytics

I came across a tennis API that actually goes beyond basic scores (advanced match analytics inside)

If you have ever tried building something around tennis data, you probably noticed most APIs stop at live scores, rankings, and maybe some basic match stats. Useful, but not exactly deep.

Recently I found tennis-api.com and it is one of the few APIs I have seen that leans heavily into advanced match analytics rather than just surface-level data.

What stood out to me:

  • Detailed match statistics, not just final scores but point-by-point level insights
  • Player performance metrics that help you understand form, not just rankings
  • Live Scores
  • Pre-match odds and live odds
  • Historical data that can actually be used for trend analysis or modeling
  • Coverage across multiple tours and competitions (Grand Slams, Main Events and Lower Tier events)
  • Structured data that feels designed for developers, not just display

One thing I found especially interesting is how you can use it for more than just displaying results. For example, you could build:

  • A prediction model using historical performance and head-to-head stats
  • A dashboard that tracks player momentum over a tournament
  • Betting or fantasy tools based on deeper analytics rather than simple odds

A quick example idea:
You could track a player’s break point conversion rate over their last 10 matches and compare it to their opponent’s break point defense. That alone gives a much more meaningful signal than rankings.

The API itself seems straightforward to integrate, and the documentation is pretty clean compared to a lot of sports data providers.

This data can be very useful for any professional tennis players, but many stats website operators are also looking to get the edge when it comes to analyzing where the matches are decided.

Curious if anyone here has already used it in a project or compared it with other tennis APIs. Would be interesting to hear how it performs at scale or in real-time apps.
