Is it just me or does someone else also find it difficult to read books that are more than 300-350 pages!?

I bought crime and punishment just a few months before, and I couldn't even complete the first part. Idk if it's just not my taste or not because i did read short stories of the same author and i loved them but i couldn't get through Crime and Punishment. I seriously cannot understand why!? Can someone give me tips on how to get past such a phase with a specific book!

Ps I read My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante and The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath in these two months i loved these books, any recommendations like such books would be appreciated.
