I started taking an antidepressant medication called escitalopram about two weeks ago. I have been able to sleep well since then. I asked ChatGPT about this and got the answers below. Any ideas why this happened?

SSRIs like escitalopram can affect:
Sleep architecture (how your sleep cycles are structured)
REM sleep (they tend to suppress it)
Breathing control signals in the brain (via serotonin)
Because of that, there have been reports where SSRIs:
Slightly improve certain types of sleep apnea (especially central sleep apnea)
Or reduce breathing instability during sleep
