Being billed for something I didn’t make an appointment for but got a quote for
My roommate damaged the house, we got a quote from a company to fix it, so I was adamant that I was just getting a quote and wouldn’t book myself unless he didn’t do it.
Months went by, my roommate made an appointment, however since he was at work I would have to be present- however I didn’t make this appointment. They said to both me and my roommate on the the phone that they could fix it mostly 80%.
When they came they didn’t do what they said they would do, I even emailed prior to the invoice being sent out that it’s not my bill because I didn’t make the appointment.
They then emailed me saying that the bill is both mine and my roommates, when I asked them in a prior email to not invoice me. The invoice is only in my roommates name when I had a look, so I’m confused???
In a separate email with the invoice to my roommate said that they will go to qcat if the bill is not paid off.
Am I in any way liable even though I only got a quote and didn’t make the appointment and made it clear it’s not my bill?
