Hi all,

I was considering a trip to Hokkaido around mid to late September and was thinking of climbing Mt Rishiri. From what I've seen, October is the cut off for hiking there.

Based on weather reports from last year it looks like late September didn't rain but was quite windy. Would it be safe to climb Mt. Rishiri at that time? Would it be fine if I pushed it towards the end of September or better to get it done mid September.

If not maybe Rebun would be a good backup?
