20gal electrical water heater for shower
Hello! I have a property in chicago that we use temporarily as a shop to work on weekend projects. We switched all the appliances to electrical since the gas minimum monthly cost was $70, even in the summer when not used at all. Now we want to have hot water available in case we want to take a shower. We are planning to install a 20-gallon electrical water heater. These small water heaters are usually known as “point of use” water heaters, not sure if this means it’s supposed to be installed next to the point of use ie. The shower.
My question is whether anybody has had experience with these small electrical water heaters. Do they work? How long would it take to heat up the tank once it’s empty? As long as we can take a 10-minute shower, this would be great for us.
I found one branded Richmond Essentials at Menards with 6-yr warranty. Thoughts? Feedback?
Thanks !
