I'm 28 (f) and already have multiple issues going on with my feet.

I have bunions (that's much worse on my right vs. left foot), 2 overlapping smaller toes on both feet, and possibly a bunionette forming on my right foot. My right is worse because of a mildly inclined ankle.

My grandmother got the bunion surgery, but it reversed itself, and I've heard it's best to avoid it until it's necessary.

So I'm completely changing out my footwear. I just bought a pair of barefoot sneakers, and one pair of barefoot boots.

I've gotten a lot of use out of my Birkenstocks Bostons this year. I also have this very old pair of Dr. Martens that strangely have wide toe boxes. I got them at a thrift store and have never seen the style anywhere else. They're insanely comfortable too.

I also love the look of the duckfeet brand, and I'd love a pair, but I don't want to invest if I need to move into the barefoot direction.

I'm wondering if it's better to completely shift to the barefoot, or if the main concern is just having the wide toe box.
