I noticed many Omani people (both men and women) have a very similar nice fragrance smell. What kind of perfume, oud, bakhoor, or oil do Omanis usually use? Any common local brands or traditional scents?

لاحظت أن الكثير من العُمانيين (الرجال والنساء) لديهم رائحة عطر جميلة ومتشابهة. ما نوع العطور أو العود أو البخور أو الزيوت التي يستخدمها العُمانيون عادةً؟ وهل توجد علامات تجارية أو روائح تقليدية مشهورة في عُمان؟

I’m staying in Al Khuwair, Muscat. Where can I get fresh Omani dates (especially rutab) nearby? Looking for local market or farm quality dates, not supermarket packed ones. Any recommendations near Muttrah, Ruwi, or Al Khuwair?

أنا أسكن في الخوير، مسقط. أين أستطيع شراء التمور العُمانية الطازجة (خصوصاً الرطب) بالقرب مني؟ أبحث عن تمور من السوق المحلي أو المزارع، وليس التمور المعبأة من السوبرماركت. هل لديكم اقتراحات بالقرب من مطرح أو روي أو الخوير؟

I recently read that Al Khuwair Downtown in Muscat joined the Global Business Districts (GBD) Innovation Club apparently the first project in the Middle East to join.

From what I understand, the plan includes:

• high density mixed use development
• modern business/commercial zones
• walkable urban planning
• waterfront/public spaces
• less car dependency
• integration with Oman Vision 2040

Honestly, this feels different from the usual “new project announcement” because Oman traditionally developed Muscat in a low rise, spread out way compared to places like Dubai or Doha.
