Advice

So my eye doctor told me to try contacts because my prescription hasn't increased in 2 years but I currently have these glasses which are to prevent further prescription increase there these ones which are like a hexagon pattern in the lens sorry I don't know full name. I'm currently -2.25 -2.00 16 yrs so no prescription increase for 2~3 years

The ones they said would be best for me are the gas permeable ones https://www.specsavers.co.uk/contact-lenses/types

So I'm asking if I should listen and use contacts or wait till I'm older then stop using my glasses for contacts. (NOTE: I plan on getting LASIK/SMILE in 9 years at 25 so if that's something to consider also I had a assesment for lasik they said I'd be a good candidate)
