Decent enough APSC superzoom?

I’m an a6400 user. Lately I have been eyeing on sigma 16-300mm vs tamron 18-300mm. Even though they are not pixel perfect, I think I’m more of a “moment-first” person. Having to switch between lenses is kinda sucks and I don’t really have the budget to have 2 cams at events, nor ability to carry 2 big lenses like 17-70 and 70-350 when I travel around.

But the reviews is so mixed that I’m confused. Some say 16mm is useful compared to 18mm, but some others says they rarely use the 16mm. Some review said sigma is sharper, but some review said tamron is sharper—similar with autofocus. Tamron has bigger aperture at long end f6.3 than sigma f6.7 but I’m not sure how significant that is. And it seems like there are more sigma user than tamron (more ppl talk about sigma), so it seems there’s a bias toward tamron vs sigma on superzooms.

So I wanted to do yet-another-comparison post. Share your photos! And your experience with it overall

Not aware of any other apsc superzooms though. Would appreciate if anyone come across better lens :)

I have a6400 + kit lens + 35mm f1.8 now, and I am considering to buy 17-70mm f2.8 tamron for my next upgrade. But I’m not sure if that’s the best idea, I’m afraid it wouldnt leverage my experience a lot, so any advice would be appreciated!

Type of shot I usually do: church/event indoor photos and street photography. Not really into macro and wildlife I guess.

FWIW, these are some of my shots. Thanks!
