I want to start off by saying that I am actually SO happy that I got in after being waitlisted because I truly believe that when people such as myself are admitted to any sort of application-based program, it is a testament to the fact that our society is becoming increasingly oriented towards anti-elitism and meritocracy.

When I was initially waitlisted, I was devastated. I'd essentially believed that my fear was confirmed: all summer programs hosted by T20 schools are elite, poor-hating, minority-hating, FGLI-hating buckets of privilege and toxic capitalism and that I wouldn't ever stand a chance against a swarm of nepo baby CREATURES who earned have been handed tons of elite research positions or super fake, parent-created non-profits related to some generic, fake bullshit "health" or "medicine" spike! My essays were golden, and those alone should've gotten me in. But alas, I have no elite internships, haven't raised billions of dollars in performative "advocacy," and haven't done anything that spectacular. But guess what? I have passion and a genuine interest in pursuing global health and want to help others, not major in economics or business at a T20 so that I can continue the evil, exploitative cycle of unregulated consumerism that plagues our nation!

Anyways, that is my tangent.

Here is the actual LOCI:

>!Dear GHLC Admissions Committee,!<

>!Thank you for reviewing my application and for the opportunity to remain under consideration for the 2026 Global Health Leaders Conference.!<

>!I am writing to reaffirm my strong interest in the program. Since submitting my application, I have intentionally centered my AP Seminar Individual Written Argument on a public health issue, exploring how social isolation contributes to adverse economic outcomes in the United States and evaluating the expansion of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a policy-based intervention.!<

>!Through conducting a literature review and engaging with interdisciplinary research spanning public health, economics, and psychology, I have further developed my interest in addressing systemic health challenges through evidence-based solutions. This experience has strengthened my commitment to pursuing a career in medicine while engaging with broader public health frameworks.!<

>!I would be genuinely excited to contribute to and learn from the GHLC community, and I would enthusiastically accept an offer of admission if selected. Thank you again for your time and consideration.!<

>!Sincerely,!<
