so after the credits of the last dance we see a broken capsule and then a cockroach crawling across the screen and everyone in my theater started whispering. the theory is that a tiny piece of the symbiote survived the acid and bonded with the roach to stay alive until it can find a human host again.

it makes sense since cockroaches are famously hard to kill and it would be the perfect way for venom to "reboot" himself without needing a massive explanation. but that would mean he’s currently wandering around the nevada desert as a bug while eddie is in new york. do u think this is how they bring him back for a fourth movie or is it just a tease that the symbiotes are never truly gone?

i noticed while watching the last dance that there are an insane amount of close-up shots of eddie’s shoes or him losing his shoes throughout the movie. at first i thought it was just a running gag about him being a mess but then i saw a theory that it represents his loss of freedom and identity.

every time eddie loses a shoe or has to steal a new pair it’s like he’s losing another piece of his "civilian" life and becoming more tied to the symbiote. plus when he finally makes it to nyc at the end he’s practically barefoot which feels like he’s starting over from nothing. do you think the director was actually trying to say something deep about his journey or am i just overthinking what was meant to be a simple physical comedy bit?

the "hippie family" from movie 3 actually grew on me by the end of the road trip

at first i was like "why are we spending so much time with these random people in a van?" but by the time they got to area 51 i actually kind of liked them. it gave the movie a weird vibe that made the stakes feel a bit more grounded since venom had someone "normal" to interact with. plus seeing venom try to be lowkey around kids while he’s literally an alien parasite was pretty funny writing. i doubt we’ll ever see them again but they were a nice addition to eddie's final journey. what did u guys think of them or did they take up too much screen time?
