Will working at a bank with a 'bad reputation' make me unhirable?

I have an interview with a top 5-ish bank in my country. Long-story short, last year a manager in this bank embezzled millions of dollars which hurt the bank's reputation. It was specific to that manager, not a full department or anything systemic related to the bank itself.

My friend told me not to take the job because if recruiters see i worked there they will likely not hire me due to the bad reputation.

Is this true? If anybody has any previous experience or insights, please let me know!

I live in Lebanon and at this point I feel like there is no regard to proper transparency in macro information like this with local brands. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen misleading stuff.

I’ve always had to try and guess how much insulin to take. 3 units was the sweet spot for this but it took a bunch of hectic trial and error.

There are way worse examples than this too that I might post about soon if anyone’s curious. How common is this where you guys are at?

p.s. the sandwich was pretty good
