10 months progress

I’m 40 next week! So I took 39 to lock in & get into shape.

All of the old cliches are so true… it takes time, small choices every day etc etc.

I’m not where I want to be yet - realistically I know I’ve got another year or so of losing fat and gaining muscle (and then I’ll still be going, I guess it never really ends 😅)

This is my third time losing a large amount of weight & hopefully the last. My approach this time has been so much different and sustainable so I’m feeling like this one will stick. I’m doing a very small deficit (eating around 1700-1800 calories), lifting heavy 5x a week, 2 30min spin classes a week + walking every day. I started with 5k, then added on from there. Now I’m easily at 15k a day (it goes by fast and it’s fun).

Every 12 weeks, I took off from lifting and let the step goal go for 2 weeks. I ate at maintenance which was basically an extra snack a day.

I’ve also not weighed myself at all, not tracked calories or weighed out my food which all feels so freeing and different to how I’ve approached weight loss in the past.

I hope this can help people see that change is possible and can be more easeful than we’re usually taught.
