Vacuum Breaker?

The outdoor faucet started leaking this spring. I replaced the vacuum breaker, because that’s where the water is spraying from. Unfortunately, no luck with the new vacuum breaker and the issue persists.

- I had a similar issue last spring but repaired it by tightening the vacuum breaker and had no issues for the rest of the summer.
- the cap is the correct size.
- I did remove the pressure before installing.
- I’m putting the small piece in correctly so the rubber side is up.

I don’t think the plumbing hardware is compromised based on the leak, plus it would be a pain to replace. The location it connects in my basement is within the drywall.

Thoughts on what to do?

Is there a way just to seal it off with a plug of some sort?

Is this on faulty? Try buying another vacuum breaker?
