I have straight/wavy hair, medium density fine texture, I have about 88 dreadlocks varying from 0.5-0.8cm in thickness. I’m 3 months into my loc journey through backcomb and crocheting.

However the other day I got a retwist and style put into 2 strand twists, but a few days before that I went to someone to retwist the base only because I wanted a neat look for an event and my crochet lady was not available, so I just got a regular twist at the base, but I didn’t like the look of it for various reasons (retwist is 1st pic),

anyways the next day I got a retwist put into 2 strand twist because I wanted to see how it’d look, however this guys method was abit odd the way he done it and I’m worried that my locs have gotten skinnier as a result of it. He washed my hair first patted it with a towel a little bit till it was just damp and then proceeded to retwist my hair and then put into 2 strand twist, but due to my hair being damp during the process I worry it made my locs skinnier. And he did do it kind of tight and like made the rubber bands pretty tight on the 2 strands.

I didn’t like the look of it despite it being neat and I was worried my locs were going to get skinny and (I forgot to mention he did put gel at the base, would palm roll, separate the hairs with a comb and put it in a clip and then put in 2 strand twists). Anyways I’m not going to lie as soon as I got home I took it out😂

When I took it out I noticed my locs gotten skinnier immediately, will my locs puff back out to its original size or did he permanently just make it skinny or did he actually just twist it to the size my loc is actually meant to be? I know locs expand and stuff but cuz my hairs straight it doesn’t expand like how Afro textured locs do, I do believe it works differently, anyways I just need some clarity to know if my locs would stay permanently skinny as a result of this and hopefully go back to the size it was before retwist. Or will it just stay the current size forever now?

For reference prior to the retwist I had let’s say on average 0.8-0.9cm thickness across the front and crown, they are more like 0.6-0.7cm now. I attached some pictures of how it looks after I took it out but it’s hard to tell, would appreciate the help!
